Terms of Service
Effective 22 September 2026. These terms govern use of skullpay.co, the merchant portal and the platform-hosted checkout (the “Service”), operated by Bones R&D (“we”).
1. What SkullPay is — and is not
SkullPay is non-custodial payment software. It derives deposit addresses from wallet public keys you supply, watches public blockchains for transfers to those addresses, and reports the result to you. At no point do we hold, control, convert or forward funds, and we never possess a private key. Every payment moves directly from the payer's wallet to yours. We are not a bank, money transmitter, exchange or custodian and do not provide financial, tax or legal advice.
2. Accounts
- You must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding contract, and must provide accurate account information.
- You are responsible for keeping your credentials, second factors and API keys secret and for all activity under your account. Enable two-factor authentication; the portal requires it before sensitive changes.
- You may invite team members. You are responsible for their actions within your merchant workspace.
3. Your responsibilities
- Wallet keys. Verify derived addresses against your own wallet before accepting live payments (the portal and plugin provide a preview). Losing your seed means losing your funds; we cannot recover them.
- Compliance. You are solely responsible for the legality of accepting crypto in your jurisdiction, for taxes, sanctions screening, consumer law and for your own privacy notices. The optional AML hook is a tool, not a compliance program.
- Your customers. You must have a lawful basis for any personal data you pass to the Service and must honour data-subject requests using the tools provided.
- Acceptable use. No unlawful goods or services, no abuse of public blockchain data providers, no attempts to breach or probe the Service beyond the scope of our disclosure policy.
4. Fees
The Service is provided free of charge and we take no share of any payment. Network (miner/validator) fees are set by the blockchains and paid by the payer's wallet. We may introduce paid plans in the future with at least 30 days' notice; existing free functionality will not be silently withdrawn.
5. Availability and changes
We aim for high availability but the Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. Blockchain data comes from public and third-party endpoints that can be slow, wrong or offline; confirmations, exchange rates and fee estimates are best-effort. We may change or discontinue features with reasonable notice and may suspend accounts that violate these terms.
6. Intellectual property
The Service, its software and branding are owned by Bones R&D. You receive a limited, revocable, non-exclusive licence to use the portal, API, plugin and hosted checkout for accepting payments in your own business. You retain all rights to your data.
7. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. We are not liable for lost funds, mistaken or unconfirmed payments, exchange-rate movements, chain re-organisations, third-party provider failures, or any indirect, incidental or consequential loss. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of USD 100 or the fees you paid us in the preceding twelve months (which, for the free Service, is zero).
8. Termination
You may close your account at any time from the portal. We may terminate or suspend access for breach of these terms. Because SkullPay is non-custodial, termination never affects funds already in your wallet; invoice records are retained as described in the Privacy Policy.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Bones R&D is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction unless mandatory consumer law provides otherwise.
